Millions of Americans are highly anticipating their 2010 income tax refund in 2011. When tax returns are transmitted to the IRS, American taxpayers usually have to wait 48-72 hours for the IRS to review and accept the tax returns. Many taxpayers take advantage of the toll free phone number or IRS website to check the status of their tax returns. But, in 2011, some Americans will have yet another way to check the status of their tax return and refund: the IRS2Go application.
On January 24, 2011, the IRS introduced the IRS2Go application which is made available for download on all smartphones, such as the iPhone and Android. The application was introduced by the IRS to advance the technology of the department and provide taxpayers with a more convenient way of checking tax returns and refunds.
The IRS2Go application will not only allow iPhone and Android users the ability to check tax status, they can also review some useful tax tips. IRS2Go application users can also input their email address where they can be alerted about tax status and tax tips.
